Boom, Fire Nation! I asked and you delivered! I said, “Guys, what is your 2013 business goal?” and man, did I get some great responses! People from literally all over the world sent their replies about what their goals are for this upcoming new year. Let’s kick right into them.
Brian Kane. “My goal for 2013 is to take all the information garnered in my year of learning, 2012, and make 2013 my year of doing. By the way, your podcast has been a tremendous help.” Well thanks, Brian! Amanda [Lahan] from HippyChicMom.com wrote, “My number one goal for 2013 is to get off my butt and kick some butt!” Eliot [Yinger]. “My goal for 2013 is to get a paying customer for my product.” Eliot, you got to start somewhere and you got to get those wheels moving, and it sounds like you’re planning on doing that. Rich Brooks of Flyte New Media. “Launch The Marketing Agents and be well on my way to 20,000 subscribers by yearend.” Well, Rich, I know you personally and I know that you are going to reach that goal with flying colors. Jan [Bracher]. “My number one goal for 2013 is just do it. Jump off that cliff and build the wings as I go and put something out there.” That’s a great attitude, Jan. Daniel [Goldack]. “My number one goal is to double my income.” Daniel, that’s a great goal, but let’s add another zero onto that.
Chris Murphy. “John, I am planning on igniting in 2013 by launching a brand at manvreality.com dedicated to helping others realize their passions and making every day of their lives more fulfilling.” Man! Chris, I love that passion, I love that vision. And for those of you that might have missed the intro, Chris is the organization of the Fire Nation Meetup in Las Vegas. I’ll be speaking on Monday at [11:45] AM at the New Media Expo in Las Vegas, but if anybody wants to get together and meet other people in Fire Nation, Chris is putting this together. It’s very exciting. Email him at chrismurphyhub@gmail.com.
Mike Kawula of DiscountCleaningProducts writes, “Your abbreviation, FOCUS.” And guys, we all know what FOCUS stands for – Follow One Course Until Success. Mark [Lobello]. “My personal goal for 2013 is to speak to one person a day about my business. My iPhone is set on a one hour alarm repeat – vibrate, of course – until that goal is completed. If I have learned anything about business in the past year, it’s the power of enrollment. Exciting as many people as possible about my business can lead to effective networking and obvious exposure. The goal is simple yet effective. You never know who you’ll meet on a daily basis. Thanks, John.” Wow, Mike! That’s a really interesting strategy to have your phone to vibrate once an hour, but I guess it’s going to keep you on track. Scott Brock. “To create a business that would generate passive income and give me the free time to backpack around the world.” Scott, I love it! Check out Natalie Sisson, the Suitcase Entrepreneur, for some great intel about doing that.
Travis [Ussinger]. “My number one goal for 2013 is to complete my Bachelors of Arts in Psychology, and through that process, learn more about what area I want to specialize in.” Travis, never stop learning and continue on with what seems to be a great path. Matt [Benlinger]. “My goal for 2013 is to build a solid community around my new platform, “The Consultant Mindset,” which I’ll be launching on 01-01-2013, located at ConsultantMindset.com. That’s a great domain name, Matt, and I’m sure it’s going to be a great business. Peter Clifford. “My goal for 2013 is to be in a position to leave my current job and start my own business. Knowledge plus action equals power.” Peter, every night before you go to bed, every morning when you wake up, knowledge plus action equals power. You wrote it. I said it. I love it! Veronia Freeman of StressFreeDesign.com. “My 2013 goal is to bill what I’m worth in a timely fashion so that I can afford to work with even more entrepreneurs.” Veronica, only you can put a dollar amount on your time, and believe me, it’s valuable.
Devin Thomas. “The number one goal of 2013 is to release an Android mobile app.” Devin, let’s shoot for the stars, baby! Let’s get one up there in Apple as well. Justin Lamontagne. “Teach KC to snow ski.” Well, Justin Lamontagne is my brother-in-law. KC is my niece. So I’ll be over watching that very closely. Susan Tate. “My number one goal is to move back to California and have coffee on the boardwalk.” Well, Susan, I love that goal. I’ve had coffee on the boardwalk before and it’s a beautiful place. The next person, all I have is their email address, unfortunately, but it’s [mrine2@gmail.com]. “Add lots of content and monetize my website, and quit my job.” Boom! Dave Tackeray of Talknology.org. “In 2013, I will create the world’s first community of people who want tech to make things simpler, smarter and stress-free.” Dave, consider me part of that community. [Mary Anna Abid] McDougall. “Stop apologizing for the state of my health and celebrate the success of my business and the happiness of my children.” Great goal, [Mary Anna]. William J. Beard. “To ascend to a higher level of consciousness.” Ooh, I like that! Katy of MerchantsInternational.org. “My number one goal for 2013 is to get my blog up and running. I’ve been spending lots of months in R&D, hoping to have the big launch right after the new year.” R&D, research and development, keep that rocking, Katy!
Mike [McKeenan]. “My 2013 goal is to interview at least 10 architects and start my podcast journey with the title name “The Architect Inspired.” Reaching this goal would be a dream come true and I have a long way to go, but I know that having a goal is one step closer to reaching it. Thank you, John, for all you do. I am one of your predictable listeners and I’m glad you put this out every day.” Well, Mike, reach out to me with help for your podcast. Check out PodPlatform.com. We’ve got some great tutorials for you guys there. Don’t let anything get in your way. [Corey] Jenkins. “My goal is to double my clients on retainer so I can quit my day job. Oh, and lose 10 pounds.” Corey, you look pretty svelte on your Gmail pic. Don’t be too hard on yourself, buddy. [Nick Astordis]. I’m pretty sure I butchered that name. “My 2013 goal is to eventually start my online business.” Let’s take away that word “eventually,” Nick, and just say “start my online business.” Daniela [Aslan]. “Hi, John. My number one goal in 2013 is to create a residual income stream for myself.” Love it, Daniela! Check out Pat Flynn of Smart Passive Income.
Nancy Jacobs of EmbroideryIt.com. “Being a wife and mom and working to get my business ignited from home has been a challenge. So my number one goal for 2013 is to set and stick to business day hours in which no doc’s appointments gets scheduled, no morning coffee groups with the other moms and no personal phone calls can take place during those days and times.” Nancy, as much as it hurts, those coffee groups are nothing but a waste of time when it comes to a business. So unless you’re looking to waste your time, stop going to those coffee groups. That was kind of harsh. Sorry. Nick [Kasernis]. “John, my number one in 2013 is to launch an online business to support artists, writers and musicians in a greater area to help market themselves online in new and innovative ways while giving back to the local community.” Nick, I love that goal! I would love to see it come to fruition. Keep me updated. Kathleen Titus. “In 2013, a new legacy begins. I plan to launch my website, build a community and open my bricks and mortar store that hopefully will last my lifetime!” Kathleen, I know you have the passion, I know you have the drive. Put the keys in the ignition and ignite! Dustin Hartzler from YourWebsiteEngineer.com. “Finally launch my Advanced WordPress Developers Training Course. I’ve been talking about this since 2010 and I’m tired of talking.” Dustin, you’re better than that, buddy! Get out there, make it happen. See you in Vegas!
Rachel [McNene]. “My number one goal for 2013 is to stop planning and just do it. Referring to a new online business that I really want to launch is something that’s very much part of my life, my family and my personal interest. It would be so rewarding to work and to share with other people. My husband and I started working on it a year ago and I’ve gotten sidetracked multiple times with life and other business demands. It always seems like there have been reasons why we can’t work at a given time. Enough with the excuses. Time to just do it.” Boom! Shannon Rice. “My number one 2013 goal is to start the year off right with a 90 day balls to the wall, blast and repeat a couple of times throughout the year!!!!” I’m not sure if she’s referring to an online business or a workout regimen, but either way, Shannon, go for it! Michael Carrington. “I am on a clearly defined path pursuing my passions and working hard to become debt-free.” Yes, Michael! Roger Tayfel of RT Screen Designs. “In 2013, I will take the spark you started in me to ignite an inferno of growth, launching my website and podcast with the intentions of growing a new business and opening new revenue streams, allowing me to get closer to my ultimate goal of financial independence.” Roger, love it! Inferno, ignited, sparks. Buddy, you got it!
Timothy Page. “My number one New Year’s Resolution is to get my podcast moving with all the awesome guests that I have on.” Well, Tim, I hope you’re referring to me as one of those awesome guests. Chad Johnson. “My number one goal for 2013 is to establish myself as an expert in the health and wellness industry by simplifying the diet process into one-step intervals on my soon to be famous website, RunLiftEat.com.” Chad, wow! That is soon to be a famous website because RunLiftEat.com is a great domain name! Greg Christian. “Number one goal – became a better public speaker.” Greg, how are you going to go about doing that? I hope you’re joining your local Toastmasters. Adam Singh. “Hey, John! My number one goal for 2013 is to consistently create and publish content on a weekly basis…” Adam, make it happen. Weekly is the minimum, my friend. Get out there, knock it out of the park. Barbara Peter. “Number one goal for 2013 – be a lighthouse and people will find me.” Love it, Barbara! John [Orosco]. “My number one goal for 2013 is to increase my annual pay by 45%.” John, add a zero. Ryan Coffman. “Take massive action and inspire and educate my audience.”
Whew! That’s a great one to end on because it’s short, it’s sweet, it’s taking action inspiring and educating. What more could you want to do with your life? And there has never a better time to be on this earth that gives you the ability to do just that. Fire Nation, tune in tomorrow for the rest of the 2013 goals. Continue to be inspired by your fellow Fire Nation community, by yourself, and keep that fire burning!
