[1:33] – Adam shares something that he believes about becoming successful that most people disagree with.

You need money or a bunch of connections to become successful.

[2:07] – Adam talks about how realistic it is to make money doing home service businesses.

Its realistic and he thinks it’s the best business model in the world because you can start right away knocking on doors and make $100-500 in the first day.

[2:31] – Adam talks about Step 1 – the best way to get started from ground zero.

You can be lazy but you can’t be broke and lazy. If you have no money, go to ground zero that is get a sponge, a bucket and rags and start knocking on doors because that is the easiest way to get started. And if you need more capital, do more door to door , run some ads and start doing deals.

[4:25] – Adam talks about why this is not a saturated market and having too much competition to actually make money.

He has never heard that it is a saturated market because there’s tens of thousands of window painting and this kind of service literally never end.
Brand yourself to be a professional company. Use the social media and modern tools that are accessible. You don’t need to worry about competition if you give the premium service.
Get you foot on the door, do service stacking by taking one customer and do a good service and offer more services to them.

[6:53] – Adam shares his story.

He was raised by a single mother and grew up with his brothers in a one-bedroom basement apartment. His only goal in life was to be a professional hockey player. He sustained an injury and slept in his car for a month. He didn’t know what to do with his life back then. When he recovered from his injury and went back to the university he realized that playing hockey will not get him anywhere in his life.
He started window cleaning by going door to door in the month of February to March. That was 30 deg in Canada that time. He collected deposits and bought his first equipment . He made $55K in his first year and $100K in his second year and in his third year in the university, he made $280K. By the time he graduated, he doubled down in his business and added Christmas lights & seal coating that built him up to a million dollar. Simple, dirty jobs with good crew that brought him from rags to riches.

[8:29] – Adam talks about his AHA moment.

He has two AHA , moments. The first one was his first day going door to door to clean windows and gutter and he easily made $500. He became addicted to it and thought at that moment that doing it will give him a beautiful life.
The second AHA moment was when he was about to finish his university. He was doing his business and hockey at the same time and he decided to stop chasing his pro dream and try to do the service of Christmas lights. They made $75K in 45 days and that made decide to go full time in his business.

The big misconception that people have is when you are starting this type of business of window and gutter cleaning you need to be in the field. But he was advised by his mentor to hire workers to do te job for him and that gave hime time and freedom in his first year in the business.

1 to do is to generate good leads and build up your brand name.
Doing a little bit goes a long way in the home service space like answering calls, calling people back and showing up on time.
Build your business profile consistently for a year and it will snowball in home services.
Get your foot on the door, build your brand name up and start service stacking and take over the city.
There’s a lot of smart people in the world and a lot of dumb people in your city.

Yes but it depends on what type of life you want to live. Scaling is all relative on what people want. People don’t want to make tens of millions of dollars vs making a few hundred of dollars per year and having time and freedom.
The new definition of rich is having to do what you want with your time.
