Today’s Audio MASTERCLASS: 5 Things Successful Online Entrepreneurs Know That Others Don’t
[1:19] – Yuri shares something that he believes about becoming successful that most people disagree with.
- The inability to deal with uncertainty is one of the biggest reasons why most people won’t succeed in business. Nothing in life is certain and if you are looking in certainty, especially in business , you might as well look for someone who knows how to deal with uncertainty.
[2:03] – Yuri talks about the quote ‘Time is expensive, money is cheap’.
- He used to believe in the opposite but successful people in general understand that you can always make more money but you cannot make more time.
- The biggest mistake he made in his online business when he started in 2005 was he spent 3 years trying to build it himself because he thought time is not his most valuable commodity and that he wanted to save money and use his time.
- Everything shifted when he invested in his first coach/mentor and he realized that working with someone whose been there and done that before him and has already accelerated the process and will not make the same mistakes. Therefore, you buy back the time from learning from other people. You spend money for that but you can always make the money. The years that you have saved , you can never get that back .
[4:20] – Yuri talks about how Overnight success takes at least 3-5 years.
- No one in business becomes successful in their first time and it is usually in the 2nd or third business that they succeed. For him, it took 7 years to make his first million dollars. When he started Healthpreneur 8 years ago, it took him 7 weeks. If no one has seen the back story, they will think its cool because it only took them 7 weeks. But he came to it with 13 yearsof experience and had a lot of failures.
- Its important to know especially in social media that with all the flash, there’s a very ugly and messy back story that is more inspiring and ore important to dig into.
[6:15] – Yuri talks about some successful entrepreneurs.
- There is a commonality or DNA that successful entrepreneurs sharein common in their going down moments and moments of persevering.
- People should also understand what it means to win in life, business and sports, its not going to happen overnight. Nothing great comes easy whether you have kids or business and because of that, we end up valuing it more.

[12:23] – Yuri talks about ‘Simplicity scales, complexity fails’.
- We only have so much focus. His first business was successful but it was scattered and had little focus. They had 100 products and funnels and part of the reason why he sold the company was he wanted out and doesn’t want to be involved in it anymore.
- When he started Healthtrepreneur, he decided he will only do one thing and he will focus on it like a magnifying glass. He only had 1 acquisition funnel for 3 years and he expanded it vertically and not horizontally.
- Entrepreneurs are very creative and that is a challenge because they become distracted. Business fail because of bloating and not indigestion. Bloating is taking too much, he believes in simplicity and not taking too many deals and offerings.
[16:42] – Yuri talks about ‘Attention is everything.’
- Where attention goes, energy flows and results shows.
- Money follows attention. Attention is the No. 1 currency in today’s age.
- You have to get people’s attention before anything else. You can’t command attention with a good hook, a good angle, messages and visual. It doesn’t matter how good your solution is or how good you are if no one knows who you are. The first step to get people to know who you are is commanding attention.
- There is a very important bridge between trust and attention. We have to understand the fundamentals of self-promotion to get attention in a way that is useful for the business.
- The second type of attentionis your own attention. For him, he feels himself at his best when he is doing deep work, focused and not distracted. He set up traditions to allow himself to get there like using an app called ‘self control’ to allow him to block every website he would consider visiting and use Google docs with a timeframe that he needs to be focused.
- Environment will always trump will power.
- Attention is everything in the market and how we harness our attention to create meaningful work is very important of all.
[20:46] – Yuri talks about branding is everything but it doesn’t pay the bills at first.
- How do you build a brand that last and pass the test of time. The no. 1 is make it a focus. Make decisions that are long term focus instead of tomorrow –focus. A brand that extends your lifetime.
- 2, content is the single most powerful way to build a brand. Anything that you can do to build trust and reputation to play the long game is all part of branding.
[26:13] – Yuri gives his key take away.
- Put yourself in an environment that is going to raise you up because you are a reflection of our environment, of the standards of your peer group and the fastest way ti change behaviour is to change your environment and with other successful people.
