Today’s Audio MASTERCLASS: How Entrepreneurs Can Easily Protect Their Most Important Assets While Building Their Future!

[1:12] – Kevin shares something that he believes about becoming successful that most people disagree with.

  • Book the ticket and the rest will work itself out. Don’t have a plan B and just go with it. As soon as you booked the ticket, the road becomes more clear. People who procrastinate in booking the ticket never get to go because they are waiting.

[2:36] –  Kevin talks about the 3 greatest cyber threats and scams to my business and family

  • They started their company Stealth Family because they saw a gap in the market place. That gap is that a lot of tech companies are focused on big companies in cybersecurity. He partnered with a  former FBI supervisory agent in Cyber Task Force because they saw this huge gap where the victims of cyber crimes are small business, families, kids and elderly.
  • The 3 scams are No. 1 the social engineering scams and the big people using AI voice to mimic the voice of a mother, a daughter, a colleague and play with emotions. No. 2 is email phishing, text smishing and the newest one is QR code quishing were people scan a QR code that can download all the information in your phone. No. 3 is sexploitation of organized crime rings who are going after teenagers ages 14-17 years old tricking them in social media and blackmailing them which leads to suicide of the teens.
  • They encouraged families and parents to be better digital parents. If they hand their child a mobile device, know that they are opening them up to a world of danger.
  • Staying away from a stranger and you wil be safe doesn’t work anymore because those stangers look like your friend, parents, colleagues who are acting like them.

[5:57] – Kevin talks about the easy ways to avoid being a victim of cyber crime.

  • The first step is to get educated. His partner Scott Augenbaum wrote a book called “The Secret to Cyber Security.  A simple plan to protect your family and businessto cyber crime” is a good book to read.
  • The first core of their business is to get educated because the most vulnerable victim is the one who is uneducated.
  • The second step is to have a technology platform in place that can help you avoid this things.
  • Finally, have a guy or a resource if and when something happens because there is no 911 for such scams and crimes right now. But if you are educated, you will less likely fall from this scams.

[8:20] – Kevin talks about how to protect kids and the elderly.

  • Have a pre-planned conversation. Avoid giving your child access to the internet until you sat down and have the conversation with them.
  • One of the modules for training is being a better digital parent and understanding the threat landscape.
  • The seniors are vulnerable because they have resources. It is important to remember that the hacker is in your system for 6-18 months before he take an action. They are genius social engineers watching and waiting in your every email and transactions that you receive and then they will strike when you are most vulnerable.
  • If you are in a small to medium business, hire someone who is a MSSP or a technologist to do a penetration test after 1 year to flash out the bad guys and secure your technology systems.

[12:51] – Kevin adds to having a secret word.

  • The key is avoidance, have a meeting with your family and come up with a secret question and answer with every member having a different answer that scammers can’t find about. Don’t email or text that private question.

[14:38] – A timeout to thank our sponsors.

[17:06] – Kevin talks about law enforcement and who to call if you are a victim.

  • The problem right now is that there are no law enforcements and there is nothing they can do if you have fallen victim to a cyber crime.
  • A lot of criminals know this and overseas operations is where most of the cyber criminals are operating.
  • Technology is getting more and more available in the dark web.  14-16 years old knows how to hack and ransomware service is only $25 per month in the dark web which make the cybercriminals become more sophisticated and in most cases you just have to take the loss both money and emotional.
  • Good cyber hygiene starts at home. You have a responsibility to protect your organization, employees and customers personal data. You have to take reasonable measures when somebody hacks your company or you will be open to litigation.
  • Law enforcement can’t do anything. There is an organization that protects but it is only for big companies but for the average person or entrepreneur, you are on your own.
  • Get educated, get an easy to use tech and have a cyberguy to help you.

[19:50] – Kevin talks about the easy and effective solution for you, your business partners and your families.

  • Bring an MSP or outsource an IT team.
  • Put an infrastructure and systems in place in the employee’s home. Protect their homes and families and educate them before clicking the link and wiring the money.
  • Have a dual voice authentication and put your policies in place.
  • The Stealth Family has a 3-tiered solution – Education, Technology Stack Platform, Incidence Response. They have a 24/7 white glove concierge service and includes an insurance policy with $ 1 M cover to 50 devicesin the home.
