- [06:33] – Worst Entrepreneurial Moment: A Friday night in March, 3 years after they opened their business, Pia and her husband had 2 employees, a studio and $40K in credit card debt. There was no money left for payroll for the next 2 weeks and Pia was just crying and freaking out
- [07:22] – That moment forced Pia to make a huge change
- [07:57] – The reason why the moment felt so awful was because it felt like failure
- [08:04] – Steve, Pia’s partner, turned to her and told her they might need to let the employees go
- [08:27] – “Maybe this is NOT the right way to do it”
- [08:56] – That was the beginning of them shifting their business
- [09:19] – Sometimes you have to learn the hard way
- [09:24] – Over the next 12 months, they pivoted into a niche-intensive model that earned them $500K
- [10:56] – Entrepreneurial AH-HA Moment: Pia and Steve realized they needed to put themselves through their own interview process. They asked themselves what their favorite thing to sell was and it was Brand Up, a product that changes a company overnight. It was also their most profitable product. This was a light-bulb moment for them.
