3 Value Bombs
1) Reaching out to people and telling to your network that you are launching the podcast, inviting people to get involve and give guest recommendations are more important than the actual launch of the podcast.
2) The biggest mistake people make in podcasting is when they don’t put their processes and system in place when they are starting their business.
3) Podcasting isn’t about downloads but about the right conversation. Its an excuse for someone to put down whatever they are busy about and prioritized giving you an hour of his or her day to build trust, authority and respect.

Today’s Audio MASTERCLASS: How to Build Authority & Drive Revenue with a B2B Podcast
[1:20] – John shares something that he believes about becoming successful that most people disagree with.
- The attitude especially in the online community that you have to be everywhere and have a lot of exposure and that is nonsense. Just find a channel , a tool or a strategy that really works well for you and double down on that and that will take you a long way.
[2:07] – John tells why B2B podcasts are the ultimate tool for building client relationships and referrals.
- He met JLD in a New Media Expo in 2013 and EOF podcast was just 3 months and that is what podcast is all about. Its an incredible tool for connecting people.
- People have different awareness of podcast and certain assumptions of getting downloads and exposure which is a great but there ‘s a lot of B2B businesses out there that don’t have to pursue that strategy and can use podcast regardless if they have 10 people or a million people listening to it.
- Its about using podcast to have an amazing conversation that is built in an incredible relationship with someone you respect or admire. It can be a client, a partner who has the same passion as you.
[4:01] – John talks about how to use a podcast to connect with high-value prospects and strategic partners.
- Doing a solo podcast is something that you can do that is actually getting done. The most important thing is to know who you speak to and that is the most critical decision.
- If you use podcast in a B2B business you have to think who are the clients, respective partners, prospective clients, influencers, industry, authority and speakers in your industry that you should be building a relationship with. Spending time to do that is critical.
- Reaching out to people and telling to your network that you are launching the podcast and inviting people to get involve and give guest recommendations are more important than the actual launch of the podcast.
- Put more effort in the outreach because it will get you to more conversations with clients and past clients, partners and people you respect and admire.
[7:51] – John talks about the biggest mistakes businesses make when it comes to podcasting.
- The biggest mistake is when you do not put your processes and system in place when you are starting your business. People podfade because of this, they think they can win it but they can’t when the processes and systems are not put in place first.
- The antidote to this is knowing how it will be valuable to you and how it will give you an ROI.
- AI tools can’t do everything but it can supplement many things like creating your voice or video. But do not use AI voice with your best client or best referral partner because that should be an authentic human connection to build rapport with them.

[14:25] – John tells that podcasting isn’t about downloads but about the right conversation.
- A podcast is an excuse to get into conversation with people. Its an excuse for someone to put down whatever they are busy about and prioritized giving you an hour of his or her day. During that time, you are able to build trust, authority and respect. Because it is a podcast, you can reach to CEO’s of companies and if you do it right, it gives you an opportunity to educate them.
- What people don’t do well is that they don’t explain who they are and what they do because if they do, they will be at the top of those people’s minds, particularly if the timing is right. If the timing isn’t right but you were able to build trust, authority, respect and connection , you will remain at the top of their mind by continuing your podcast and putting your content across different channels.
[18:33] – John talks about how to leverage your podcast for business development.
- There are so many dofferent ways and the first is create something that is time list and not timely. If you do it right in a regular basis it will snowball.
- Its important that once you hav e created that content, you continue to do it because there are unlimited different things you can do in order to leverage it. For example, you can turn your content into a book, digital newsletters for sharing content online and has an SEO value.
[21:07] – John gives his key take away.
- If you have an idea and you want to have your podcast don’t put it in your bucket list. Don’t wait for the future when you now have the time to do it. The truth is , you will save time when you start a podcast for your business because it will give you access and a tool to doble down and build relationships.
