Today’s Audio MASTERCLASS: Adapt and Overcome: How to Tactically Evolve for Success with Steve Schabacker

[1:06] – Steve shares something that he believes about becoming successful that most people disagree with.

  • All areas of our life are intertwined. We have to have everything else in our life in sync to be the best version possible of ourselves and to win in every area of our life.

[2:15] – The reason why evolution is important in all areas of our lives.

  • Evolution is important in order to become the best possible self that we can create.
  • Always look into industries where people are stuck in the status quo – where they’ve been doing things the way they always have. It’s important to disrupt things, make change, and constantly evolve.

[3:17] – Steve shares an example of how he recently evolved in his life.

  • Listen to yourself and to your body. Change what you do based on how you feel and what you believe you can do. It makes all the difference.

[5:08] – The most important area to focus on

  • The area we need to focus on most is the area we neglect most.
  • Make sure the foundational things and relationships that are most important to you are solid before building something huge.

[6:45] – How do core values fit into the equation?

  • Our compassion is our greatest asset.
  • When we’re coaching some of our employees or managers, we show them things that they can do a little bit better. It all focuses back on the core values.

  • If you want to get past an obstacle, sometimes you have to go crashing to it, but oftentimes, you have to figure out how to go around it; do things a little differently than you used to.
  • Most industries are adapting and listening to their customers.
  • Adapt and overcome means making things better, moving things forward – not just for yourself, but for an industry as a whole.

  • Success is freedom. Freedom is not being tied down in a particular location or to a particular thing. Freedom is being able to live life on your terms.
  • Focus on freedom.

[20:15] – How does one choose an industry?

  • Look at the market and see, as far as opportunities, what you can make better.
  • Listen to what customers want. If there are some things that they’re not getting and those things are feasible for you to do, then you can be very successful no matter what industry it’s in.
